Review of Dorohedoro
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I absolutely HATE the CGI style anime. It pushes for quick production and takes way less of everything to make. This wouldn't be an issue if it was actually good to look at, but it falls short most times. Dorohedoro DOES mix the CGI animation, but it does a good job with it. Honestly, if everything was hand drawn in this anime, it would be in my top 10 easy. The story is so cool. You really get to see the divide in the people that use magic well, and the people that live in Hole.It has some funny moments to lighten the mood, but for the most part it has a gritty, tough feel to it. Even the characters don't clean up between every scene, and changes actually stay throughout the show.
Character development isn't too fast really, but they could have given a couple of them a little more screen time. For the most part, everyone relevant to the MC gets fleshed out, and you form solid opinions of all of them. Shin and Noi are probably my personal favorites.
The soundtrack is great. This is another one of the few intro's that I actually kept watching throughout all 12 episodes. (K)now Name - Welcome to the Chaos is perfect to compliment this show. The outro's are also unique, while a bit silly. (There is a real nice easter egg in the second half that I wont spoil for anyone, but I love the shout out to the old game)
There is a reason that this anime scores high on pretty much every review site. If you are sleeping on this one, WAKE UP! Seriously, you will be surprised on how good this actually is.
