Ok your typical generic basic boy meets girl, boy likes girl, the boy somehow pulls off dating girl despite their being better options out there for here. Is your typical anime that the unrealistic becomes possible, and while one person's love life seems to blossom, every one's around them sucks, even though some of them are better matched, but won't take that chance. It's a sweet enough story of a social misfit, who has been excluded so much, is finally accepted, when someone doesn't realize who he is, so gets to see the good side of him, and judges him differently. It challenges her perceptions ofthe guy she has even worked with. Whether is how he makes knee-jerk reactions, or things like his piercings and tattoos he hides, as well as his discovery of her vulnerabilities as much as her strengths.

What i didn't like is couples you could see should be together, seemed just not to click, and ones who maybe shouldn't do. As the show goes on, it feels for some parts other couples need a push to form, but horimiya just felt like others' lack of actions was to make theirs shine brighter. It just felt more unrealistic as never been in a class where several couples in relationships never rotated back to each other. It just felt a bit forced by the writers.

Also, it seemed not much effort was made to make the most of dating Hori, s much revolved around the home, and to me that detracted a bit from the story, and going for the submissive style kink just to turn it off so quickly, felt like was more could be done with it.

So to me, the story was average at best, art and music were fine, characters never had the greatest depth outside our MC, so it just felt like an average poorly pushed generic school romance.
