Let me start by saying I went into this show not expecting to enjoy it. The way it presented itself came across as a more female-oriented shoujo-ai style, which is not my thing. I am now prepared to say that I was wrong. Avoiding going way too in-depth to not spoil anything, this show does a complete 180 after the first 15 minutes. Oshi No Ko is a mystery/drama/romance that heavily focuses on the struggles and realities of being an idol in Japan. It gives a very accurate and realistic portrayal of the industry's mental struggles, financial walls, and dangers. This already sets it apartfrom its contemporaries, however, it does all this while having some of the most stellar writing in any show I have watched period. The way this show curates every character's individual storylines and struggles is done in such a thoughtful and in-depth manner. This makes for a very dynamic and interesting cast, with me wanting to see more of even some of the side characters. This all works into the main plot, which is unique and has so much mystery and nuance within it that it might take a few watches to fully take in some of the hidden aspects.

In addition to this, the animation and art are absolutely stunning, with studio "Doga Koba" putting forth their highest quality effort to date(seriously, the eyes in this show are so well drawn for no reason). Of course, a show focusing on idols has to have music, and it delivers. The soundtrack is phenomenal, and I would confidently say it has one of the best intros I have ever heard. It is so damn catchy and I can't get enough of it. The outro is also very fitting and works well in the flow of episodes. I must also mention the idol songs from B Komachi are great and clearly had a lot of effort put into them.

To conclude, I am absolutely infatuated with this show and I cannot wait for season 2 later this month. Ultimately, I cannot sing enough praise for this show, and that is why I am feeling a Perfect 10/10 (Would like to mention it is not often that I review a show, so that can make it very clear that this one stuck with me)
