Review of Arte

Arte is a story about a girl who wants to be a painter in Renaissance Italy. I watched this anime as I read that it was a feminist anime, etc. The anime does have feminist leanings, although I wouldn't classify it as such. It makes Arte's acceptance into society and the painting scenario almost too easy and simple. it kind of gave the typical misogynist vibe of "women being responsible for their own oppression". Considering the 16th-17th century society, the opposition a woman would face was tremendous, not to mention Arte did not even have a father to back her up. So it kinda makes lightof the struggles of women during the time.
Overall the series was interesting and fun to watch, but is nowhere close to being a feminist anime.
