This season could’ve been an email—and frankly, it felt like one. What should have been a high-stakes tale of political intrigue turned out to be little more than a dull overview. New & existing characters and abilities were barely explored, if at all, stripping away the heart and soul that make a story engaging. The premise promised a race against time to resolve tensions within two entire nations before disaster strikes, yet what we got was more like a rough synopsis than a fully realised narrative. The pacing suggests the writers wanted to tick off the “important” plot points quickly—introduce too many characters, throw in somespectacle, then shove the story back toward the main arc. That approach could work if executed with flair and grace, but here it just feels flat. Character bloat isn’t inherently bad; it only becomes a problem when those characters aren’t given the depth to justify their presence. A well-written cast can thrive in any scenario, their choices and flaws driving the story forward. Instead, this season gives us characters who whip out convenient powers and solutions without context, as if pulling moves from thin air—and everyone just accepts it.

It’s like asking a teacher “why?” and being told “because it is.” That’s the level of depth on display here. Shallow, rushed, and unsatisfying, this season leaves you with nothing but disappointment and regret.
