Review of My Love Story!!

This review contains only slight spoilers (about the show's progression). I cannot BEGIN to describe how much I adore this show, it simply hits my every spot. If you happen to be like me and hate sappy, unnecessarily prolonged, back and forth and indecisive shojo with the main characters obviously in love but somehow not finding out until the end of the goddamn show, you're in for a treat with Ore Monogatari!! The story progresses SO smoothly, I mean, it was so refreshing to see a show where the main characters resolve their feelings in the first 3 episodes. From all of the shows I've seenso far only Wotaku ni koi wa muzukashi gave me such a blessed pace of the story, both shows subsequently exploring not only the overdone and overhyped story of the "before relationship", but mainly what goes on after they say "I like you".

All of the characters are very well written, I'd maybe only point out the bit overboard cuteness of Yamato, the main character's love interest, but it is fitting for the overall trope of "the cutest girl falls in love with the toughest guy possible" in the end. I couldn't see any of the characters as "shallow" or overly stereotypical, all of the stereotypes were used in a careful way to not disrupt the wholeness of an actual personality.

To conclude my thoughts, if you're someone who enjoyed the turns and twists of Kimi ni todoke or Love complex, you will probably not enjoy this show (as the reviews show). But if you're someone like me, who appreciates a well made piece of life story, DEFINITELY WATCH THIS!!
