Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero

While in a writing mood I might as well give this one a go as well. Watched the series a short while ago and what can I say: It’s pretty good. For the first part… The series has a thrilling plot going on… in the begging. It’s interesting, you feel for protagonist (since anyone can get in similar position for no reason what so ever), the atmosphere, which starts off with the series, suits the theme and you start craving to watch one episode after another. Why so many “first part”s and “in the begging” one might ask? Well… By a certain point in the middle of this25-episode series you start to get the “Oh no, I know where this is going… I’ve seen this a million times before… oh please, heavens, no, don’t do this… OH YOU SON OF A …! BETRAYAL! (©Spoony)” vibes. Yeah… I did feel bad at this point, while forwarding through pretentious dialogs, fight scenes and other types of typical cliché trash. And I do suggest you not drop the series completely when you stumble at this point of realization, because THERE ACTUALLY ARE good scenes buried under that mess.

Should you watch? Yeah. Just be aware! Be very aware! And you won’t be as disappointed!
