Review of Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale

As seen on trailers this movie is about new adventure, the new technology in AR era. So i really was waiting for this movie. Every half season of SAO gave me something new, maybe not unique. Just remember how it felt to be in gunslinger world after the fantasy and swordsmen worlds. New, fresh. Following with the story of a little girl. So what should one expect from movie? Nothing fresh I’m afraid. This movie did not meet my expectations like at all. I feel betrayed. It seems like they made a fanservice movie to keep the fanbase alive during large vacuum between 2 and 3 seasons. Pros: Fanservicenipple, fanservice lying on the azuna’s breast, fanservice costumes, fanservice places.
Cons:
No new story, no new locations, my mind wasn’t blown off by some game the promised me in trailers.
It’s just not what I wanted, not what I loved sao for. I wanted something like pokemon 3 – same old characters with never seen before augmented world, but all I got is higurashi ova’s.
Any other cons like shooting in a panel and magic technology dreams are not relevant.
Overall: for fans only, don’t expect mindblower and you’ll be pleased with meeting with our beloved characters.
