While Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Season 2 isn’t mind-blowing or anywhere near my favorite rom-com, I do find it consistently entertaining. It’s very much a “turn your brain off” kind of anime, where the appeal comes from enjoying the sheer ridiculousness of Uzaki’s non-relationship with her senpai. The story itself is simple, but the jokes do enough to keep things from getting stale. The weird-looking cat in particular works surprisingly well as a recurring gag and adds some extra charm to the comedy. While I don’t think the show has the potential to become something truly great, I’m invested enough to keep watching. It knows exactlywhat it wants to be, and for the most part, it delivers on that.
