"My expectations became the villain." But I mean that in the best way. I figured out that I knew relatively nothing about the plot so I won't reveal any of it to you either because it ended up working in my favor. The music is gorgeous, personal playlist-worthy. The art and design is great, I legit kept thinking "I would cosplay as that." One of the things I heard was that it looked like a video-game like Metroid and that turned me on to it, and I can confirm that there are definitely video game vibes. The world and atmosphere is once again great with bringing you alongfor the ride inside that world, I liked hearing all the little details. You would think that "bugs" wouldn't be as appealing but I stand corrected. The whole thing is iconic and you can see where so many other things took inspiration.
I seriously teared up, I didn't cry but teared up.

With Mononoke, I felt like it had a great start but just kind of got worse as it went on, I wasn't a fan of the whole environmental theme, which is against popular opinion and I did start to appreciate it more as time went on but I felt the complete opposite about this movie because it felt slow and boring at the beginning but it got better and better, not to mention the princesses being opposite as well, Nausicaä owns this movie, she's a boss. It almost feels like a companion piece to Mononoke, notice they kept animals out of Nausicaä and bugs out of Mononoke, which is surprising since this movie came out way before, it was before Ghibli was even a thing, that's crazy!

So yeah, it is long but it kept me entertained, I was impressed. Normally I can pick up on what a movie is going to do pretty quick but I honestly had no idea what was going to happen from one moment to the next, I was enthralled, it defied my expectations brilliantly.

My complaints? The ending. I love the ending, but the very ending has one aspect about it where I was like "Okay, I'll be pissed if they do that." Then they did it and I understand why but it's just the way they did it. Also the old woman who says "The air is filled with anger". That was a bit unnecessary.
