Why does the Queen Emeraldas and Space Battleship Yamato show up in the end, acting like they've done anything?? At least Captain Harlock helped out in the final battle. Maybe this is what Zero Century Emeraldas will be about if it ever leaves the pits of development hell. (I'm kidding, I know this is just the 96 Galaxy Express 999 manga, but seriously, why did they show up completely out of nowhere? SBY barely interacts with any other Matsumoto work, let alone Galaxy Express, why is it here lol???) Also an actual criticism I have is why does the movie not explain why he gotlocked up after Andromeda arc, I know its because he resisted but it feels overshadowed here.
