While Bamboo Blade may not be an earth shattering or ground breaking series, it is an uplifting and fun series that doesn't stoop to many of the normal anime conventions. The kendo matches are well paced and interesting while not being the major focus of the show. This show is really carried by its characters, as all the girls are adorable and interesting. The coach is less of a likable character, but even he has his moments. The Blade Braver thing is hilarious. In conclusion, if you are looking for something that will lift your spirit up and make you feelgood then check out this show. I really hope they make a second season.
