I Wanna Be Your Girl · review
I really love this manga so far. The pure representation, which is really quite progressive for a manga, made me cry real tears. We get to see every day joys and struggles for all kinds of people, especially a trans girl called Akira and her friend that supports her in any way she can. The outlook on simply just being human, in all different ways that there are, is wonderfully nuanced and understanding. The story includes points of view of gay characters, trans characters, asexual/aromantic characters and generally just characters trying to find out who they are, how to identify and how to present themselvesto the world.
That's why I give the characters a rating of 10. And my enjoyment was also a 10. I got the opportunity to view a lot of different things differently and more nuanced, and I even felt inspired to stop caring about how others view me, and only how I want to be myself.
Truly inspiring.
The art is also really cute, just for your information.
