Review of Nisekoi: False Love
This show frustrated me but then saved itself so many times. Maybe being in college has changed my way of thinking about romance but I feel as though sometimes these slice of life's can just be so ridiculous on how people react to their feelings. Nisekoi isn't really anything new, but it was engaging and I felt like I couldn't decide whether to hate it or love it AT FIRST. HOWEVER, my god did the introduction of Maria and the final episode make me reconsider. Every time I was getting annoyed by the meaningless yet constant mental torment that Raku or the other girls werefeeling a new element of intrigue entered the picture that kept me going. Nisekoi is unique in that it seems almost self aware to possible viewer fatigue and does what it can to reinvigorate emotional attachment to the characters.
I really do want to see where this story and its characters end up and I think that's its most redeeming quality, continual investment in its world and love.
