Review of Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan is easily one of the most important and exciting anime of all time, and season 1 makes that fact very clear. From head to toe, this anime is awesome. The story is very gripping while being easy to follow, but just because you're not confused doesn't mean that the mystery isn't 100% efficient. This anime does a great job at keeping this hidden while being in front of your face the entire time. Oh, also, it's very dark, gruesome, and full of intense action. AoT's first season does an excellent job at building up the importance of each character, even if theyultimately meet their untimely demise. One thing I don't like in media is when a person's death is made to feel important, but it doesn't, because you never got to spend time with that character. AoT has the opposite problem. Every death, including those of just casual characters, feels catastrophic.

As each episode unfolds, you continue to reveal more of the mystery surrounding everything, so each episode feels rewarding and gratifying, but they still leave you wanting more, making each episode very awesome. You gain something, which leaves you satisfied, but you learn something new, which makes you want to go to the next episode immediately. This show is very binge worthy.

I've seen this season before, but it's been so long, and I didn't keep up, so I wanted to watch the season again to see if I remembered much. Even though the scenes were photographically memorable, every big reveal felt brand new to me, especially the twist near the end. There are details about that twist I remember, but the big twist itself was like new to me. The music can be really epic, almost like a From Software game. The art style is great every step of the way, my only complaint is sometimes, a whole lot happens in a very short amount of time and it's hard to determine what actually happened. People escaping in the nick of time andcertain actions in a battle going over my head are a few examples. Otherwise, this anime is extremely good. If you haven't seen it, you are making a mistake.
