Review of Parasyte: The Maxim
I rate this series separate from its manga counterpart; I also understand that the detail of the anime series isn't as accurate with the manga especially in terms of thematic plot points. In saying that, I still have vivid memories of MC and the 24 episodes I watched nearly 6 years ago. The anime is very distinctive in its story and character development in a way similar to Tokyo Ghoul yet it executes it with a 24 episode storyline - I myself would have loved this series to continue longer than 24 episodes but I understand the consequence would be adding meaningless filler that doesn'tmeet the notion of the anime.
One thing that I absolutely loved in this anime despite being an extremely fatal presence was the notion of a conflicted love scenario. This added more controversial spice to the anime that would have made the side character development lower quality overall.
One thing to improve on, I found was that here and there, existed a scenario lasting an episode or two that didn't necessarily move the plot or sell any character development within. I feel that the diversion with the police operation at the (If I remember correctly) hospital, hostage situation ~ It could have been a nice attempt to implement background information about the antagonists plans but it instead, focused on MC and few minor characters - Not a bad thing, it would add more controversy fitting some content in these areas.
Overall, I loved this anime. Great plot buildup, character development, average overpowered anime ideas. 10/10
