Review of Parasyte: The Maxim
[DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY SPOILERS] I am very strict on choosing which anime series or movie should I watch next. I was doubtful about Parasyte (Kiseijuu) at first but it got me very surprisingly pleased. It came to be my favorite anime now and I enjoyed every single episode of it (sometimes with tears in my eyes). At first I thought Parasyte will be one of Shounen/Action type of anime but I was completely wrong. It turned out to be psychological/philosophical/existential anime that really hit my whole perception of the world and it is the main cause why I liked it cause I often bring out philosophicalquestions to myself. You will utterly fall in love if you are one of that kind of person who likes to wander off about the depths of the universe.
The plot and the protagonist will pull you into the story right away. The storyline is amusing and entertaining and (of course) the cliffhangers will leave you hesitating if sacrifice your sleeptime or not. It got me with 'okay, one more episode' till very late time, so better prepare for a long watch.
Some characters will make you fall in love with them and some will be uninteresting though they are playing quite important role in the story. It's all up to you to decide.
The evolution of characters got me the most because that's one of the biggest things I loved about Parasyte - vibrant, changeable, always moving characters are appealing to me the most in any kind of shows/stories. I guess no one likes stagnant protagonists, right?
In overall, Parasyte series were really drawing in with its vibrant characters, great storyline, unpredictable plot twists and delightful art.
I hope anyone who watches it will have a great time as I did.
