Review of The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments

Awww! I enjoyed the first season so much, too.. :< I got into this season 2 with great anticipation, and was left disappointed.. The 10 commandments are a fine idea, although I feel like they rushed both their intros and their outros, so we didn't get to know most of them. I liked the red dude's intro the most, very terrifying! Buut that's about it. I miss a lot of the adventure and going around. They still do to an extent, but not nearly as much as before, and it's far less goofy. Introducing Escanort was nice, and he's pretty cool, probably the best bit! I wish they hadexplored him a bit more, though.

I was hoping for more backstory on Merlin, Gowther, and Diane, but nope.. Hardly anything. In fact, Diane -regresses-... They almost give her a good backstory, but then they back out at the last moment. Gowther continues to be a mysterious unhinged douche, and Merlin.. It's complicated.

It's hard to narrow down exactly what went wrong, because there are so many things all working in tandem on many levels! But - powerlevels! They actually introduce power levels! For one, I don't think it added anything. Secondly, it got so out of wack! We go from 3000 to 60000 like it ain't a thing, low lvls beat high levels, and there's just so much wacky stuff happening. People who are weak suddenly grow strong, people who should be strong don't do squat, and..

Where's my 7 sins! More like "Meliodas & Escanort"! Merlin randomly becomes OP after being incapacitated for the entire season. Ban tries to do stuff and fails; does stuff and apparently it didn't work.. Like, Ban should be able to fight 1v1, or use his steal-y power, but he never really does it, unless it doesn't matter. And he isn't nearly as entertaining as he used to be! Diane and King don't really do anything, and Gowther continuously counts against the team, really.

Also the tournament-bit was incredibly questionable, Meliodas' plan was dumb, and..

Why doesn't anyone ever die?!

Also Elizabeth, please...

Anyway.. It's not the 7 deadly sins it once was.. :< /rant
