Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero

This series has an interesting premise, the idea of someone's naivety leading to them being taken advantage of when they get isekai'd is a fairly fresh and logical take premise for the genre, but unfortunately the execution leaves much to be desired as after a bit of weirdness wherein the main character buys slaves (which makes sense for his character, but the show handles the subject matter super weirdly for the entire runtime) the story rapidly devolves into your typical generic isekai power fantasy harem nonsense. For what its worth, its at least up to par with other isekai shows in terms of art, the charactersare somewhat believable (although written in a manner that validates some rather slimy worldviews) and it's not unpleasant to watch (most of the time) so I can't give this a negative score, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're after some mindless popcorn entertainment.
