Review of Tsukigakirei
I am crying as I am writing this review. I'm not joking there are tears in the corners of my eyes. Finished the last episode and straight away got on MAL to write this review. Call me sentimental, I don't care (because it's true!) Anyways. The thing is, I don't really have a lot of expectations for animes with genre like this. I have watched a fair amount of slice-of-life anime but usually they revolve around humour and random shenanigans. My initial impression watching the first episode was that it was cute. Really cute. I am in my 20s but story about first loves still makes megiddy. It's just something about first loves that makes it magical, beautiful and sometimes painful.
Not really into going about the technicalities of it. This review will be more about the story and how it makes me feel. That is why we watch stories. To feel and to understand.
The story is simple. Some people might say it's cliche. But everybody's got a first love, and so I am sure that everybody can relate to this. This sets in middle school so the characters are quite young. Their actions are depicted accordingly to their age. Their innocentness, their childishness, their impatientness, and their eagerness. It makes sense you know. Some just doesn't makes sense but yeah, they are teens.
I was half prepared, half not for the finale. I am not going to spoil the last episode but I was prepared to be hurt.
I did not expect that. But I'm glad that I watched this. It made me happy. So happy that I cried. So how can I not give this a 10? That would be unfair innit?
TLDR; this anime is for when you're tired, and you really can't be bothered to think much. You just wanna have your meal in front of your screen and just relax. If you need a casual, soft and laid-back anime fix, this one's for you guys.
