This review may discuss plot details.

This is the shortest single season in the entire franchise with only 24 episodes. I'm impressed how much Digimon Xros Wars has been able to entertain me thus far. And there's still one more season after this. Everything I liked in the previous season is good here. The characters are fun and have good chemistry with each other, the animation and fights are pretty great, and the villains remind me of Power Rangers/Super Sentai villains. I love how they're basically combining Digimon, Super Sentai, and late 2000s/early 2010s battle shonen, and the tropes of these three seemingly completely different typesof stories somehow meshes perfectly together. I'd say that this season is mostly just as good as before, although I might be willing to say that it's slightly better because there are some deeper and more interesting character arcs, not on the same level as Digimon Tamers, but it was enough to be noticeable and enjoyable. I especially loved one of the main female villains, Mervamon. I actually started feeling something at the end of the series when she started crying over another Digimon that she clearly had feelings for after they were defeated. I'm curious as to what season 3 can do though since it seems like the overarching storyline that started with season 1 is concluded now.
