So, to enjoy this manhwa to its fullest, you must possess the following: 1. The love for this early 2000s gothic shoujo manga/manhwa atmosphere with their overly tangled plots. 2. Willingness and patience to put up with confusion and, sometimes, rough translation - to experience awesome story and worldbuilding. If aforementioned can't be stated about you, then there's a high chance you will not enjoy this manhwa. That said, I would still nudge you to try reading it if it caught your eye in some way! The characters are simply awesome. June might as well easily be my most favorite protagonist. No, seriously, I didn't expect itmyself. She is both strong and feminine, which I found very refreshing. Kind yet sharp-tongued, careless yet caring. She was always true to herself. She was always sincere, and never lost her spark.
Lucia's character is also intriguing. It is interesting to see how different she is from June, and how her upbringing affected her. What I liked in particular, is that her and June can't be called "enemies". Sure, both girls are aiming for the throne - for their own reasons, but this could be called friendly competition.

Now, as I already mentioned, the worldbuilding is great. What saddens me is that this manhwa maybe should have been at least 60 chapters to be able to portray the world in enough detail that it undoubtably deserves. Some of the important parts I was eager to know more about, were glided through so fast and nonchalantly that I sat with, you know, surprised Pikachu face.

I could not rate it 10 because of the cramped delivery, but I am grateful to the author, Yeon-Joo Kim, and to this wonderful story, that reminded me of the very time I fell in love with the world of manga and manhwa in the first place. When I read it, one phrase was circling in my mind: "I am home."

PS for the curious souls: I am going to write a discussion post with the explanations of some plot points that were confusing. I switched between a few translations a few times, and that (alongside with useful and all-too-needed comments of the kind translator lady) helped me understand things better.

Happy reading session!
