Broken Down Film · review
Just a fun short that plays with the conventions of animation and the fourth wall. Similar to classic Looney Tunes short, Duck Amok, albeit without any dialogue. The entire premise is a cartoon character watches his animated world break down - with film grain, misaligned frames, animation errors, and other quirks treated as real phenomena that the characters experience. It's got some really visually creative gags and makes good use of its short runtime. The characters themselves are also quite expressive and - without a word - convey some fun personalities. Tezuka is a veteran of animation, and it shows with this short lovingly pokingfun at the medium.
If you have five minutes, give it a watch!
