Wonder Momo · review
Wonder Momo is amazing. And no, I'm not kidding. Is this show good from an objective point of view? Hell no! The animation is sub-par, the sound effects do sound like they were taken straight out of an old video game (which is, however, fitting in its own way) and the voice acting is hilariously bad. The story? It's ridiculous but it's fitting for what the show is. I don't expect any depth from it. The characters are flat because they don't get any backstory whatsoever. I don't know the Wonder Momo games, however, so maybe I'm expected to be familiar with those to fully getit.
On the bright side, the opening song is really catchy.
Anyway, with the show being this bad, can it actually be any fun to watch? Damn right it can. It's so bad it's awesome. It's funny beyond belief and I'm still not sure whether it's intentionally funny-bad or not, but that doesn't matter. I'm having so much fun with this, the episodes have me laughing out loud from beginning to end because they are so bad. I don't even know when I was laughing this much with another show, but I don't think I have since Nichijou. Even though I can't say that Wonder Momo is well-made, it gets a full 10/10 in the Enjoyment category and that's the most important part.
So, yes, I like Wonder Momo. I really do. And anyone who likes to watch "bad" movies for laughs and enjoyment should really give this a chance because you might be having as much fun with it as I do.
