Bishounenized desecration of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: the trilogy boogaloo I’m not exactly a fan of Kuni no Alice franchise, but while reading the various manga titles, Nightmare was often one of the more interesting characters. So, I had at least a bit of expectations when starting a spin-off centered on him. Unfortunately, the franchise has this tragic ability of making characters into a completely one-dimensional blobs of cliché. And so it has happened here. The story itself just lack any interesting elements, and it really feels more like reading a Harlequin title. So basically, slightly worse than average shoujo manga. For a franchise that seemsto present itself as having a strong non-doormat like heroine, it sure portays the heroine as a damsel in distress quite frequently.

Worst part is the art though, which doesn’t even feel like illustrations done by a professional, but rather a completely amateurish person with very little experience. The characters are often off-model and disfigured, and not in a way that would seem like an intentional arstyle choice. You could even say that the characters are more often off-model than being drawn correctly.

Overall a wholly forgettable experience, but maybe the sequels are better. Unlikely.
EDIT: They were not.
