Review of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
Fantastic background art, character writing and action scenes. Most of all I appreciate the self reflection the characters apply and the sometimes existential feelings this can bring forth. Truly though, the world building is like no other anime. They know they can't have an unmoving, stagnant fantasy universe like so many shows settle for. Where antient beings and secrets, as well as technology remain the same for thousands of years. In a show with an ageless being this simply would kill a lot of the "value" and meaning behind living for hundreds of years. So the fact they have written this universe to be so alive withchange and technological (magical) advancement that it feels like it could be real, shows attention to detail and care for world building rarely seen in the art medium of anime.
