Not usually a romcom watcher, but this one had me hooked from the first episode! I honestly hadn't enjoyed something so much in a while! I personally am the type to fall for the good-looking "cool, man of few words type", so i fall for at least one in every anime I watch (fun fact -ended up marrying the complete opposite IRL). Here, I fell for Miyamura. What I love about Horimiya is that it doesn't have the whole "will they, wont they" stuff, and instead, its a story about how the two grow as a couple. I feel like they're a good example as to whatto look for in a partner. Hori loves him because he's dependable, puts her first, gets along with and respects her family and she can be herself around him. Miyamura loves her because she's dependable, strong and caring, he can be himself around her, and most importantly, he isn't intimidated by how strong or tough she can be. On the other hand, he's actually proud of her, and doesn't take it as an insult when SHE has to fend off HIS bullies. He's just grateful to have a partner who stands up for him. I find that super refreshing.

Also, I loved the fact that they decided to get married. it's not about marriage itself, it's just that they were mature enough to understand that it won't get better than this and decided to actually put their commitment into words. or all the tomfoolery that takes place this is a mature couple, and those are rare to come by in anime, I guess because there's not much drama associated with it.

Honestly, it kinda reminded me of Tonikawa a bit, in the fact that two people were growing together as a couple.

When it comes to the side characters, I loved Sakura. She was smart enough to realise what she needed and was brave enough to rip the band aid off. Hated that whole Yuki and Toru thin, but i guess that's just me, cuz i really don't like ambiguity in relationships. Remi and Sengoku were.....just there i guess? Felt like those guys were kina accessory.

On the whole i would suggest that even non-rom-com watchers give it a try, it might really catch you by surprise, just like it did for me!
