Review of Redo of Healer
It could be an interesting anime about revenge, it could have a good character development, it could delve into and discuss pertinent topics, but it's all about rape. Ok, it's an erotic light novel, but the anime not, if you want to adapt an erotic work make a hentai, not a bum ecchi. When analyzing a hentai there are only two options, if turned me on it's good if didn't turned me on it's bad, however Kaifuku wants to be an amazing revenge anime where you want to see the protagonist come back on top, the problem is that none of the protagonist's conquest is satisfying,he is basically omnipotent and a complete hypocrite.
Right in the first episode we see all the "torture" of the protagonist that led him to become the cold and calculating edgylord and the divine miracle that fell on the incredible being he is. The problem is that the only thing we know about Keyaru is that he lives in a quiet village and has all the conveniences of the plot in his favor, plus his torture looks more like a femdom hentai, there's no way to take it seriously when even the torture of the protagonist is sexualized. The only minimally impactful scene of Keyaru's suffering is committed by the only male target of his hate and that character itself is already an offensive stereotype.
Talking about the revenge, what do you expect when you see a show about revenge? How does trauma affect the protagonist's life? How does he go after each of his attackers to kill them or torture them in a bloody way? Rest assured, this anime doesn't have any of that, Keyaru only sees his revenge target and effortlessly does it, always involving rape, there's no other way to deal with revenge than using rape in Kaifuku which makes everything very repetitive, besides being disgusting the anime treats Keyaru as a hero and all characters are one-dimensional, if they are not completely submissive to the protagonist they are the stereotype of very bad anime villain without any development.
Finally, clearly the content of this power fantasy is about the author's own distorted vision and how he sees himself. The purpose of the show is simply to externalize all of the author's fetishes and hate, which can be pleasing to some of similar thoughts or deplorable if you know how to observe all the troubles it entails.
