This is a show that touches on several controversial issues, including rape, polyamory, and torture. Most people who love it seem to love it because of the controversy while those who hate it seem to hate it because of the explicitness or dark themes. If you get over both, you're left with a story about a slave who broke free from his captors, obtained extraordinary powers, and uses those powers to exact his revenge and enjoy life's pleasures. The main character Keyaru is intentionally portrayed neither as a good guy nor a bad guy. He's just a person with a goal, and he's willing todo anything to attain it, though he frequently seems to question his own motivations. Frequently there's a situation where it seems that the objective should be to help people, but even then the goal of revenge reigns supreme. Anyone who is saved by Keyaru is merely coincidence. He's a great anti-hero. Beyond that simple basis, a lot of the themes are fairly cookie-cutter. There's a human kingdom which is oppressing the demi-humans. Magic is left vague, but the powers used by each character remain fairly consistent. The characters' motivations are sometimes used to good effect and sometimes seem like an afterthought. Overall, it's a fairly good show if you're into isekai and don't mind a bit of traumatic themes or hentai scenes, which is why I rate it a 6.
