Review of Vinland Saga Season 2
The second season of Vinland Saga is an exploration into war, humanity, and healing despite strife. It's a sharp departure from season one, which was about adventure, war, and psychological degradation. I really enjoyed this season because we got to watch Thorfinn grow from where we last left him into someone different. I really liked that the tone of this season was so vastly different from the previous season while still keeping some of the core of the franchise throughout. That said, while I enjoyed such tonal shifts and explorations, it will turn some people who enjoyed the first season off. This story isn't somuch about war and vikings as it is about Thorfinn himself and how he grows as he ages. If you aren't interested in that kind ofcharacter journey, then you might find season 2 all that entertaining, but if you're open to character journeys and expanding upon some of the philosophies in season one, then this will be a good season, though difficult to watch at times because of some of its content.
