A show that focuses on the comedy over plot, this is hidden gem that will leave you smiling. MC Yu Yutani, an overall good girl, wishes to change her appearance to get the attention of her upperclassman crush, Atori Mizutori. The comedy revolves mostly around Yu’s different approaches to create the bad girl image. Along with her best friend, she falls into situations that get her closer to her upperclassman crush and other heroines who are involved. While there are romance implications throughout the show, it’s used for comedic purposes and to show connection between the characters. This show is more about the ridiculousness that each characterhas and their own eccentric point of view that build on each other.

First time watch was in OG and it was enjoyable, but my impression is that hearing the comedy in my native tongue created a better experience the second watch. The jokes land even better and the chemistry between characters are still great.

One of the shows where the English dub helps set the tone for the comedy that is constant in this show. Love to the voice actors who help elevate this and make it even more fun. The MC being voiced by English dub actor Monica Rial, who also dubbed the MC in Watamote, was perfect. Both MC’s are unhinged and dedicated to their role.
