Review of Nanbaka Season 2

I like it for its visual aesthetic, and the characters are a lot of fun. However, I can see why this series struggles to have a season 3. ( ̄ ̄|||) It went for the "break the 4th wall" goofy shtick with a serious plot line underneath like Gintama, but it has a problem with timing. Gintama is a great example on when to be comedic and when to be serious, and that's by having the jokes lead to a serious realization near the ending or the climax of the episode, but not in a "oh, I shouldn't have laughed situation", but more of a "Oh, sothis is why he acts the way he does, and I think I love this idiot more after all he's been through" kind of feeling.

Nanbaka does it too, but a little too much that it's become repetitive, especially when it concerns Jyugo with the whole "He's only good at this one thing, and nothing else, but we like you anyway" speech. By season 2, I'm like "Why are you having a heart-to-heart right now? YOU SHOULD BE RUNNING/FIGHTING!" Season 2 could've ended with the big battle with a proper cliff hanger, if they had cut down some of those scenes! Like please, move on!
