Review of Devilman: Crybaby

Okay, so, I've watched this series like 4 times already?? I just can't get enough of it! It's probably the only netflix original anime that I actually enjoyed if I'm going to be honest. The story and characters are so engaging and it's just refreshing to see it, and the endearingly simplistic art style contrasts really well with the subject matter. Of course, it has it's flaws. Most notably, it's the overuse of sexuality to portray "sinfulness". I'm not personally bothered by sexual content in television, but it feels like the writers were being a bit lazy when it came to representing the "darker" aspects ofhumanity or whatever. Also, the fact that our main characters are underage and being present in these sorts of situations is a bit uncomfortable, but then again I suppose the show is trying to make you feel that way? I honestly have no idea.

This show obviously isn't for everyone, but I highly recommend giving it a try.
