Wow look! We are in ANOTHER Fate branch of the same Holy Grail war we have seen before! It has some things borrowed from the past, but it really just glosses over them, because its assuming you have been beaten to death with the lore, rules, and characters of this series. With that in mind, I'll say it again in this review and the next one when I finish movie #3, DO NOT START HERE. Anyways, I won't have to worry about shout outs to characters being spoilers if you have watched Fate at all, but skip the rest of the review if you needto.

This version of the beloved Fate series is like having something new in the room you're sitting in and having someone shout about the older version of the same thing down the hall. Sakura is finally more heavily involved and you get to see the twisted crap she went through (think Zero). Rider also gets more screen time (I wont say why, but it's much deserved). Assassin is also much, much cooler.

The only thing that really kind of puts this second movie down for me is the same thing that put the first down. There are things that are said or that happen that just kind of get filled in, because we all know what happened. From there we get pivoted slightly and get shown the, well what if he/she did this instead. It's kinda cool, but at the same time it feels like it took some wind out of the sails. It saves time, but parts of the movie feel like mini recaps instead of a full blown story.

This version has the same fat budget that the first movie had, and it shows. Also, a quick WiKi will tell you that it was received very well in Japan, and I would assume that the birthplace of anime might know a good anime when they see it. Also, if most of the fans of the series deem it worthy, it probably is worth your time.
