Review of Laid-Back Camp: The Movie
Wow...... I owe this series a massive apology. When I saw Season 1 several years ago, I didn't really care for it at all. I just thought it was whatever and had nothing to it. But me being me, I like to watch shows to completion. So when a second season got announced, I gave that a watch. I wound up liking it a lot more than Season 1. Now I finally watched Season 3 and I absolutely loved it. Immediately after, I watch the movie, and.... this is one of my favorite anime series of all time, now. I'm not kidding. It won meover. Maybe I was just not in the right place when I started it, but the time spent with these characters and all the little adventures they went on really warmed my heart. I cannot stress just how good the movie was. It was SO surprising, had such a great premise, some legit tension and drama, in a franchise that's known for being completely devoid of any tension and drama, and just embodies every single thing that makes this series so great. Its just filled with good feels and warm fuzzies. It makes me happy to see them happy, to hear the peaceful music, look at the beautiful scenery, immerse myself in their world as much as I possibly can. If you didn't click with this show at first like I did, I urge you to give it a second chance. It wound up being so much more memorable and impactful than I ever imagined it being.
