"There is such a thing as love in this world. I'm sure of it." - Dazai Love, something so well known but not well understood. Many people have their own definitions of love and they could all be correct. But it is very difficult to communicate a person's perspective of what love is or even to find the essence of what love is. This has to be my pick for greatest romance anime I have ever watched. The only gripe I have with it is the abhorrent CG, but then again what can you do about budget, right? RIGHT? This isn't the flashiest romance or most over the topromance anime, it doesn't have a waifu of the year or decade contender.
But what it does have simply put, is the freshness or the essence of romance.
What does that mean you ask? çŸ„ă‚‰ăȘい.
Our two main characters aren't what you would call great characters in a conventional sense, but great in the sense that they feel like real people.
Everything makes sense and it has this magnetic quality that pulls you in as opposed to being driven by nonsensical completely unavoidable miscommunications or drama. Things are done purposefully and nothing is overdone or abused.
The romance isn't at all superficial and is built with the subtlety and awkwardness of realistic romance. It tugs on the heart strings and gives you this calm feeling of absolute bliss, like lying in the beach hearing the waves crash against the shore with the warmth of the sun coursing through your body.
In what it's trying to achieve, I think the story is far beyond any of it's compatriots of the genre and the characters only serve to aid this fact.
It brings my heart happiness 10/10.
