As a first timer to the whole "Devilman" Saga I must admit that this project had an unexpected feeling to it, mainly due to the reason that it's one of the few animations produced by Netflix. Story 9/10 The premise is a classic: Demons vs Humans. If you expect something not as bloody, obscene or filled with gore, then this isn't the anime for you. The story develops greatly since the beginning and all the drama is headed towards a climactic war between the Devilmen and the Demons. I thought the ending was epic and worthy of closing the series. The first episodes might seem obscene, but it's just an introduction to a world in which demons disguise themselves as humans to create more demons. Obscenity is bound to the demon plot and if you don't believe me, than just observe any 15th century paintings and my point will be proven.

Character 8/10
Character development was a bit interesting because the protagonist doesn't have any further development since episode 2. He changes completely and we have to find out about his new personality. On the other hand, the secondary characters (Rio, Miki, Miko, etc) had to grow and adapt throughout the story.

On a final note, there are many characters that are just removed with out many details (Fudou's Parents and some high level demons) and others are developed right behind our backs (Miki's family). This action caused a lot of confusion as the story moves on. It just feels that we could afford a more "dramatic send off".

Art and Sound 10/10
The highlight of the anime. Art style was very different from something you see nowadays and the sound is iconic. You can witness this right of the bat in the Opening which introduces us to the psyche of the characters before we even see anything coming from the story. "Man Human" from Denki Grovee (opening song) went straight to my Spotify Playlist.

Aside the opening, the art style might seem basic, but there is much more beauty in something simplistic than something over detailed. Sound wise, the music sets a bigger mood for character development and story telling.

Enjoyment 8/10
I would classify this anime as an "Underdog" that took the victory. It sets the future for more revamps of other Devilman story arcs and it really attracts the attention of new viewers such as myself.

Immensely recommended for 18+ Viewers!
