Review of The Rising of the Shield Hero

This is a review of season one for the shield hero. I don't think the other seasons will ever top season one. The character development for Naofumi is pretty good. I also appreciate that season one consists of 25 episodes. It's a shame seasons 2 only has 13 episodes & season 3 only has 12 episodes. Anyways, I feel like people judge Isekai's based on the first episode now and days. If that's the case, then the first episode will not disappoint. To be completely honest, the first episode could be described as a villain's origin story -if only that was the case because I wouldnot have objected if that was the direction they went with for this Anime. (Just picture it, a 20-year-old summoned to a world where he is not welcomed, no one believes him or finds him worthy of being a hearo without even getting to know him first. A young adult in an unfamiliar world with nothing, no one and the whole world against him, is casted aside. The shield hero who is consumed by hatred, anger and malice now wants vengeance and people to atone for the way they have treated him).

Anyways, - for real this time- This anime has a great start and picks up right away. Although season one doesn't give you much background on how the others got summoned or what their lives were like before being summoned, it is still a great season. This anime really makes you feel for the shield hero, and you will find yourself annoyed with everyone who's against the shield hero.
I feel like the anime would have been so much better if it was just a tad gory.

I really appreciate how we focus on the shield hero and his journey to prove the people wrong.
