Review of BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense.
The essence of BOFURI is fluff, every episode is wholeheartedly fluffy, fun, and full of enjoyment. The plot is only so~so. You follow Maple in her journey of having fun while playing a game with her friends. There are no real conflicts, but there still are challenges given to the characters. Tension and stakes are still raised. Many scenes are just exploring the world and grinding, but there are also many great fight scenes, action, and adventures that you could enjoy. There is not an ounce of negativity you get from this series. Every episode is made to end with a good feeling in yourheart. What really amazes me about BOFURI is how its able to make a grotesque scene, massacre, to look so wholesome. Death and destruction which is the furthest away from being a positive concept is overcome by Maple's ability of turning things cute. Despite its flaws, this one trait makes it reach a 10/10 for me.
The show knows its purpose and is able to fully embody its purpose, the spirit of positivity. Maple wants everyone to smile, including you :)
