Search youtube for: mayumi (Chinami TANIGUCHI) A boring 5 min animation (more of noise than of actual movement) depicting a girl as stuff exists around her (parents, toys, other toys, her written name... artistic noise... uh... not etc.) There's very very little here and it's very repetitive. It can mostly be described as noise. The core of the animation is just watching the girl's name (Mayumi) be repeated on screen in text and in ASMR sound for the entirety of the screentime. The film direction is quite overindulgent. Most any meaning that can be interpretively applied will necessarily be extrinsic/exogenous because there's very little actually there. Even theMAL synopsis notion that she is "naming" things Mayumi is mostly an external interpretation to that name simply being repeated by the background sound and sometimes by her. There's no evidence of her personality whatsoever to say she is "spoiled", its use here merely applies to the notion that this dependent's parents give her some things rather than leave her completely destitute. Even saying that her name is Mayumi is merely an assumption, albeit an obvious one.

What the short film does depict is a child whose parents give her toys to keep her occupied rather than ever actually interacting with her. A commonplace depiction of parental neglect.
But sure, allow me to interpret: The child has plenty of toys but she is quite alone, suffering in isolation causing a crisis of identity as she's just like one of her dolls, just another toy tossed aside in the eyes of her parents, parents who she doesn't know.
The parents she doesn't know call her Mayumi no different from how she calls the dolls Mayumi, then who is Mayumi? Nothing but a doll tossed aside. Alone with no one, she is no one at all. The meaninglessness of a name in isolation, a sound from no one to no one, her identity collapses in on itself. The end.

The animation style here is mostly just redrawing the same thing over and over again causing it to wobble noisily as "animation".
The art style is quite boring, mostly black and white and overly simple and used very repetitively to depict the same few things.
The art tends to meld into visual noise in a drug-trip style to add repetitive bits of vapid spectacle.

1/10 (where 5/10 is average).
