I enjoyed Major 2nd, the first generation of Major is one of my favorite baseball/sports shows of all time. Maybe spoilers ahead careful! What I enjoy about this series so far is that Daigo has a different starting point than Goro, considering he lost both his parents at a young age and was physically strong and fit already as a young child. Then there is Daigo who is the opposite, he struggles and it shows his journey is in many ways maybe even more difficult than Goro's because he isn't physically strong as his father was at that age, but everyone keeps comparing him to his fatherand he lives sort of in his father's shadow. Daigo ends up "hating" baseball, but in reality that isn't the care he just is being crushed by the weight of being Goro's son and struggles to handle it and I like that route as well. Considering his older sister is "talented" physically similary to their father.
If you are looking for a protagonist that is immediately strong and has a "i can do anything" mentality, then this shows isn't for you, because Daigo is flawed, insecure and he struggles quite alot with his own identity.
But it's for those reasons that I enjoy it, in a different way than I enjoyed Goro's story. Regardless of that I still want to see Daigo succeed in the future and have the best chance at baseball that he can, I want him to do well and be impressive in his own way.
So if you enjoy a flawed protagonist, trying to navigate life... This might be a good fit for you!
