Review of Gintama

It's been years since I made a review and it's my favorite anime of all time, GINTAMA. I effing love GINTAMA, I grow up with this sh*t. The one thing I really respected about GINTAMA especially while it was coming out is that it started off obviously as an episodic comedy series where like each episode would have it's own self-contained story, but then a couple of volumes in they introduced an actual story element that was incredibly serious that actually explored each of the characters backstories and relationships because there's a sh*tload of character in the show, but sometimes you read a story and itjust makes sense that these characters know each other or have this relationship and it doesn't seem like someone else purposefully written it to make sense.

It's written in a way that were it makes so natural for you to be like "oh yeah of course these characters have these relationships because that's just how their characters are" and I think the fact that a show can be some of the most funniest sh*t in anime in my opinion while at the same time giving these incredibly heartfelt and f*cking epic serious story elements. There are very few shows that can teeter back and forth between these two and it NOT feel jarring.

It's rare to find an anime that can seamlessly blend different genres and still maintain its unique identity, and GINTAMA does that brilliantly. The humor is top-tier, the characters are unforgettable, and the story is both entertaining and heartwarming. It has serious arcs that tug at your heartstrings, and then switches to something completely ridiculous and absurd the next minute. It's a wild ride, and a must-watch for any anime fan."
