Review of Gintama

The first season of Gintama is an ultra-episodic and inconsistent show, which doesn't escalates well, mainly because of the amount of episodes(201). The plot is not really developed in this season except for some isolated "serious arcs", but even though it is focused in comedy, the first episodes doesn't really make a good impression in this aspect, as most of the jokes are not really funny. With Benizakura arc, the show starts increasing its quality: the jokes are actually funny, and some major arcs happens, but it doesn't really make off for the 50 first boring introductory and useless episodes. The characters are rarely developed in this firstpart of the series, being usually used for jokes, mainly satirizing other JUMP titles. Characters like Katsura and Sarutobi are ridiculous stupid, just so the show has a running gag.
Basically, I found this show fine to watch, even though I was lazy getting past the first episodes, if you want to give it a try, go for it, but I can't guarantee you will like.
