Review of Akira

Akira is a goddamn masterpiece. It's really amazing in so many ways, from the amazing animation that just flows so nicely and is detailed, to the cyberpunk aesthetic and post apocalyptic world, to the dark and twisted story and origin of this broken world and the amazing battles and crotesque ending, to the love and hate relation between Kaneda and Tetsuo, the weird sci fi elements like the godlike powers of the kids and Tetsuo. There's so many things I love about this movie. It really put me into this new world of mass destruction and i totally see really how influential this movie was forthe future. The gorey violence really made this piece something special, especially being released in the 80's, a time were animation wasn't considered gorey. Akira is a bloody masterpiece and classic.
