Review of School Days

So I kind of heard this anime in passing on forum boards, and on reddit and such. I wanted to watch this without knowing anything in it whatsoever. I was honestly a little disappointed. Now I wanted to write this review after I looked into this a bit. I watched some analysis's on this series, and see if I was missing something. I still have come to a average grade on this anime. Now the positives of this anime I guess is the sound, and it is cool to see a cute series go south. Although that is stretching for a reason to like thisseries in my opinion. Now it is interesting to see how far characters would go in a situation that has happened to them. This is what I kind of saw as a general statement for people that have liked this series. Now my counter to this is yes. The payoff is very nice. However in order for me to care about the situations that happen. I need to have good characters that I actually care about. Whenever a character does something, or something happens to them, I feel like in this anime it happened just for the sake of shock factor. I honestly despised these characters. It was very over dramatised. If that is what you want in a show. Have at it hoss, but for me the characters are the absolute worst part of this anime. Now if they are wanting me to hate the characters. They did a great job doing it. It is kind of like just watching a show of a bunch of scummy people hurting each other. I kind of feel like I am missing something to the anime. However after thinking about that, and watching others videos on it. I feel like that if the show is that unclear on me maybe the show didn't convey it's meaning correctly. Now I would recommend this show to someone who likes dramas, and or seeing a yandere harem. Not my cup of tea to be honest. Maybe the meaning was a bit too deep for me. I wanted to like this anime, and even if I don't like a anime I can see why people are like it. However it is a bit lost too me. I honestly think this is my most overthought anime ever haha.
