Review of Akira

Akira is an amazing movie and it lived up to the hype for me. That being said, it had major issues that became even more apparent after reading the manga, also one of the best rated mangas. Story:(8) Akira's unfolding of the story may confuse people and doesn't do as good a job as the manga. Despite that, if you understand it, it's still an interesting and good story. Art:(10) The art is without a doubt a masterpiece and to this day looks better than a lot of animated films. Not much to say. Sound:(10) Sound is also a masterpiece, not much to say. Characters:(7) This is definitelywhere the movie misses the mark. The characters don't have much character development with the few exceptions of kaneda, kei, and colonel.(which are still missing some character development).

Enjoyment:(10) Every second of the movie was interesting and kept me on my chair ignoring my need to piss.

Overall:(10) I can't explain my obsession with akira, its just a weird movie like no other. And for that, i say its a must watch.
