Review of High School of the Dead

For a show that seemingly adheres to the usual teenage-tailored anime tropes, Highschool of the Dead is actually enjoyable. The characters have somewhat of a backstory, making them at the very least likeable. My criticisms of the anime, however, are as follow: The story is a bit bland, if not altogether comparable to that of many apocalypse-now stories. The artwork is decently done and I'll leave it at that. The soundtrack leaves something to be desired. Also the number of scantily clad women in this anime is absurd and nonsensical. Highschool of the Dead would have been better off without throwing a pair of bouncingboobs across the screen every five minutes.

If you're looking for a cliché high school anime then this anime is for you. It's fast developing story and relatable and likeable characters make it easy to get into and keep your attention for the most part. I would definitely recommend this anime.
