Review of Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom

First things first, this show is one of my most favorite shows and I have only 4 of those among 100 I have seen so far. Why did I like it so much? Well first of all I'm huge sucker for drama, action and dark stories. Phantom: Requiem for the phantom presents all of it in one pack. However, despite me giving this show 10, it does have some minuses. At one point story might feel to have lost its touch but in the end it still manages to pull you back. Also towards the end some things seemed to be a bit unrealistic, but they can beeasily forgotten because of how good the show was before and keeps being.

I'll be fair, my most favorite part was the first arc which is completly based around Zwei's training as assasin. How he went through all that hell and how he dealt with it was my favorite part including how we got more background on Ein the original Phantom who didn't appear to be so hearless after all. Both of them were changing during the whole time and I found it really enjoyable to watch.

Some people say that Zwei's training was boring but I say that they are wrong. It actually adds to the depth of his character. It would be random to see a person who didn't want to kill at first to suddenly turn into a killing machine. I don't like when trainings are skipped in most animes. They usually make you end up in WTF mode...
And it also might explain why he is that good at what he does and why he does it at all.

Also another reason as to why I liked arc 1 the most is because it is the most darkest one in my opinion.
But won't be deceived. The other two arcs also have a lot of character development and memorable moments as well as dark ones.

Another plus of this show are the characters. All of them are different and unique in their own way. Some of them will appear like huge bastards and you seriously will start to hate their guts but at one point you still might feel sorry for them despite all the bad things they have done and will make you think "Maybe they are not such bastards after all?" Though after you start to re-watch the series you might start to hate them again XD

The only exception probably would be Scythe Master... hated his guts till the end.

This show also has good animation but most of all aweasome soundtracks which are always spot on and make the dark and depressed feeling to increase.

So yeh this show gives you a lot of enjoymeant, you might not agree with me about mark 10 that I have given but I think that it will be hard to give this series lower than 8.

Ah and in adition to pluses that I had mentioned don't forget the action. Series might not have it too much but when you see it, it is of high quality. Also most of attacks are always well planned and are not just a random barging on someone's teritory.

Although I must give one warning. If you don't like tha heavy, emotional shows then it isn't for you. The show is about proffesional assasins who kill EVERYONE, and I mean that. If you can't stand the cruelty of the world and see innocent people die, better don't watch it or you simply will end up hating this show.
