Ah, Gintama. The anime series which is beloved and hated over the world. It's known for having amazing comedy which it has done perfectly over the years for many people. However that's not all this anime series is. I would recommend this everyone however it does have problems such as the start. The start is probably the worst point because it does at a relatively weak level which is why most people think it's bad. They drop it before they get to the '' funny point ''. If you're interested you should probably watch the episodes slowly but surely until you start liking it whichis when you can feel free to marathon it.

Story:

This anime will center about what the main casts do in the Yorozuya everyday.

What i believe is that some people have failed to realize that Gintama is not all comedy which makes people unprepared for this thing called. They realize that they stopped laughing once every second due to there actually being a serious arc. As for the arcs themselves they're really great and hooking. The comedy is still in the arcs however the arcs have a focus and a point which they follow until the end. Gintama has made their arcs understandable and simple yet so deep. By deep i mean how they connect and all have some purpose. In case you didn't notice it does have ALOT of action scenes.

Do not expect much Amanto-counter fight during the series because that's not what this anime is made for.

It does take a long while for the story to get going considering how there's alot of side story episodes which focuses heavily on the comedy. This will be counted into the story as a heavy + point because of how it does and develops the characters as well as keeping you interested. It does it perfectly.

Another great thing about the arc of Gintama is that it's not longer than it needs to because it gets straight to the point without having unnecesary dialogue.

As any long running anime, this anime has fillers. Fillers are basically episodes which weren't in the original source (this manga). They are usually worse since they're randomly made for the next week. However the fillers of Gintama brings a new type of original comedy which is totally amazing. There's a few fillers which are mostly golden comedy (aside from episode 1 and 2).

My favourite point of Gintama is the way it's told. It completely appeals to most people because it understands what the viewers need. This is why i don't think anything has felt out of place and just rolled with the flow. The episodes satisfied me when i watched them because they knew what i needed. Or rather, changed what i needed which is perfect.

Art:

The art does take a while to get used, however when you do it won't be a problem. It's very likeable and grows on you quite fast. Gintama is quite old so it is a point to be noted.

Animation wise it's really amazing. There are hardly any glitchy scene and the consistency is perfect. The action scenes are superb however the art could be better.

The character designs are amazing. Every character is seperable and unique, which is a great way to remember the huge cast which Gintama has.

Sound:

The sound of Gintama is probably one of my favourites in history. The soundtrack completely fits the mood and it has alot of memorable ones which creates uniqueness into the sound.

The voice acting is superb. They completely took my favourite set of VA's and made an anime by using all their perfectly done voices. The budget was probably huge into making this however i can't say enough how worth it is.

The opening and endings are the best parts. They completely fit the mood and usually puts you in the mood you want. I have like so many of them on my phone- If i could rate the openings, there's not a single one up until today i'd rate below 8/10. I have multiple opening songs in my top 50, like 6-7 of them.

The ending songs are compareable to the openings. 2 of the ending songs are in my top 3 of all time. Every ending is unique and brings a feeling which puts you in the perfect mood for every episode.

Characters:

Gintama has a HUGE cast of characters. This would usually result in chaos as too how they're all gonna be likeable. However they're all unique and they are all relateable in some way or the other. Even a side character made me laugh and feel the way they felt. This is because of how they're developed. They're all interesting in a way or another and can make you feel what you're supposed to feel. There are some characters who are completely evil and i really despise them. However does it mean they're bad? Nope, they're still interesting.

The episodes in the anime are really meant to develop the characters which they always do. There's always something about them (which isn't asspulled) which i missed and always got it. I completely love everyone of them at the end of series. There's not a single character who is perfect because they're humans/amantos and they all have their character faults which i think the creators does perfectly.

Enjoyment:

I rated this the absolute max i could. There's honestly not much more i could rate it because of the cap. Whether it's the arc of the comedy episodes it delivers it all. Sadly the beginning part was mediocre, however what the other episodes has made me feel cannot be beaten. They're all interesting and oh god, i cannot stop laughing. As i stated, this anime understands what the viewers need. It has absolutely everything. All the way from perfect comedy to amazing arcs. The arcs aren't as good as the comedy. However the fights, thought process and uniqueness of them are truly remarkable. It completely grabbed my heart and while i watched it i didn't do anything else for days. Gintama is what i did. I even go back and rewatch episodes.

Overall:

This is truly amazing in every way. It brings absolutely everything you might need. Comedy? Check. Great characters? Check. Storyline and arcs? Check. Absolutely amazing setting? Check. What does hold this back is sadly the bad start. The comedy fails to deliver at the start. However the amount of times i died to laughter made up all of that in episode 30, let alone up until today. Remember well that some people even took 58 episodes for them to start loving it (personaly took 17 episodes). This anime does require some patience. Story wise it does have great arcs and their connections are noticeable and becomes bigger. I recommend Gintama to everyone who is looking for a great shounen anime which has comedy and action.
