Review of Ghost Stories

The first time I watched Gakkou no Kaidan, it was the BRAZILIAN dub (because I'm brazilian and it used to air on cartoon network at night in 2001). I thought it was funny when it could be funny and serious when it had to be. I had absolutely no complaints about it. Then, many years later, I find out that the AMERICAN dub is way funnier and way less serious, much like the Abridged Series of many anime that we can find on youtube (most notoriously DBZ). So I decided to rewatch it, but in english and OOOH BOY! It is WAY BETTER than what I initiallythought! Yes, it's ridiculous at most points, but that's what makes it so funny and enjoyable. The voice actors didn't give a shit if what they were saying was appropriate, you can tell that they had a lot of fun while dubbing it. And you can also have a lot of fun while watching the most ridiculous jokes and remarks!

The best of all is that while it's crack, it also makes sense with the plot. I'd even say that the english dub makes MORE SENSE than even the original script of the anime! IT WORKS VERY WELL!

I only don't give this a complete 10/10 because I wasn't a fan of some episodes, but that's not the dub's fault. In this point, it's the anime's story.

But really, I honestly recommend everybody to watch the dub version of this anime. It's a true gem.
